The power and connection you feel even virtually with this group through being vulnerable and open with each other is not something I thought possible with 16 strangers but this space that Carla has created for us allowed for just that. I feel more connected to myself through the connections made with each and every person on the group. It was a beautiful melting pot of women and we all came with open minds and if we didn’t that swiftly changed with Carla’s care, attention and teachings. I definitely became so much more tuned into my body and how it actually feels and how best to look after myself accordingly. "A big highlight for me was the vulnerability of being in front of women you don't know, who very quickly grow to feel like your tribe. There's so much love among a group of women who don't know each other fully and society doesn't champion these spaces enough.

It was a process of unlearning and freeing myself from this engrained, internalised fear of judgement.

A key learning is that self-care is a revolution. I deserve to set the time aside to love myself because, deep down, procrastination is just another manifestation of unworthiness.

This whole experience has been about looking fear in the eye and saying ‘you know what? You can fuck right off mate! I'm WORTHY!‘

“This self-care course couldn’t have come along at a better time for me. I was at a really low point and realised I was stuck in a burnout cycle of taking on too much and not resting enough. I was finding it hard to even get out of bed in the mornings. The structure of the course sessions and all of the breath-work and yoga classes have really helped me reconnect with my body and mind and better manage my emotions. I am in a much better routine and have a more content state of mind. The highlight for me was the Full Moon women’s circle halfway through the course. “I am physically stronger and more flexible, but honestly the biggest change for me has been internal.

Getting completely out of my head, being encouraged to move in a way that is kind to my body, to notice feelings and sensations, like REALLY tune in and notice the sensations, being guided by Carla to ‘marinate’ in the aftermath of difficult poses, trusting the power of my breath.

This practice has helped me heal emotional wounds, given me the courage to listen to the wisdom of my body, to give it what it needs, to listen to my truth. That wee voice inside has become a roar. Now I have the confidence to use it to empower other women.
